I've been trying to get local radio stations to play them but as of now I dont think I have been having any luck or I have not heard them play anyways.

I think we could try and send some promo cd's to radio stations?? Not sure if this is being done or not already??

I've only contacted a couple
They were:
92.9
92.5
and 88.1 Local College radio (Holy Cross)

The times I have listened I have not heard them play although I think I remember 92.5 playing them a couple times a long time ago, this was long before I had sent any requests to them.

I think this has already been said by someone...at some point... but every bar you walk into has a jukebox..many of them are the newly updated downloadable ones. But when i go search AOD...never found. There has to be some way of getting them to come up on the search..so who's the tech around here?? That is surely one way of getting the music to the masses!

I've been promoting the band through word of mouth and Facebook. I've heard the band a few times on XM, but nothing on local stations in Boston. I've found the best way to convert folks to AOD is live in concert. However, below are other thoughts -- no particular order:

** Group treasure hunt (w/ AOD gear) in the city prior to the show --- maybe include a pub crawl before the show
**Ask the tavernwalkers to add a link to a live show and/or information about the band on their email signatures
** I can probably get Reid an audience to play a few songs for a group of 300 21-35 year olds where I work. We have biannual all company events that usually include entertainment. Could be a good place to reach a large audience of AOD virgins
** Perhaps AOD can play a public concert at the hatch shell in Boston. There's usually a good turnout there.
** Try to get AOD on the Spring Fling circuit. Most colleges have these outdoor events in May with thousands of students.

we saw aod at strangecreek last year...and it was so great! of course they headlined one of the nights...but if you could get them in a late night cabin it might be great too! alot of the folks that don't see "all" the bands go to the cabins cuz they don't want the "party" to end. could grab a few more fans there...??

also, why not go to smaller towns? not all folks have the resources to pay for an overnight show in a bigger city but if they love what they hear, like we do, they might jump on the bandwagon.

we also spread the word as much as we can by giving away cd's of songs from internet archive.

AOD on juke boxes; tammygirl mentioned searching for aod on download-jukes. I bartend in Albany. Most of the juke boxes are ecast music here. I asked my rep about getting AOD on there. He said as long as Assembly of Dust registers with ecast (not sure of the process) they would recieve money based on plays. There always could be conflicts (copyrite based). But it is worth looking into.

I've mentioned how I cant find AOD on any of the new digital jukeboxes around here. I would assume the band would have to sign up or something. TouchTunes is popular here in pa

I don't know that this would necessarily spread the word about AOD, but I think it'd be cool to press a few vinyl copies of Some Assembly Required and the Honest Hour (my 2 favorites of the official releases).
